Autobiography
My most vivid memories of childhood are of sitting around the kitchen table, listening to stories from my parents (first generation Americans). They shared stories of hardship. Of family. And ultimately, of triumph.

I grew up believing in the power of possibility. I became a fanatical zealot in the power of the story.

During my 18 years in the corporate world, I have often been compared to a film producer. Setting the vision, assembling the right team, working through the technical aspects of what it will take to achieve the goal. Learning to let go of my story, so it can be become everyone's story.

My sales and marketing management experience has ranged from startups under $10MM (Director, Marketing Programs - Precise Software Solutions), mid-sized companies (Divisional Marketing Manager - INTERSOLV) to 300 lb guerillas over $12B (Senior Director, Industry Programs - Oracle). While each brought its unique set of challenges, the approach was always the same:

Set the goal
Identify the constraints and remove them systematically
Build support at every organizational level by making each individual vital to the project's success.

Using this approach, I was able to help companies increase revenue by orders of magnitude, to shrink sales cycles by 400%, and to create huge cultural shifts without reorganizing. Then, I had my greatest personal success to date: I quit!

My sabbatical allowed me to see more of the world (ask me about the world's first bungee site in New Zealand) and to give back to my community. Currently, I serve on the Board of Directors of Under One Roof, which is dedicated to raising unrestricted funds for Bay Area AIDS Service Organizations.
